I don’t know if it’s my age or what however I seem to be having discussions about the weather a lot more recently. Inane comments such as “out of the sun it’s a lot colder” and “it’s a good drying day today isn’t it?” leaves me wondering about what is happening to me...I have mentioned this phenomena to a few friends recently and they agree. Using my sensory acuity I do believe that they really are agreeing and not just placating me and laughing hysterically behind my back...no, really I do.
What is this country’s fascination about the weather all about?

And what a focus we put on it. Did you know that for the 17 weeks that Rihanna was number one in the charts with “umbrella” we had rain? Did we attract it by singing the song or was it merely coincidence?

When did you last have a “proper” conversation? With someone at work? Or with someone in your family? A real bona fide, “how are you? (and listening to the answer), what’s been happening with you, how are you feeling (and still listening)” kind of conversation? Wouldn’t that be interesting now? You can still open it with a question about the weather and then expand?
